Addiction Counseling
Definition of Addiction
While there is much debate about what constitutes an addiction, the definition we use is one that states that addiction can be characterized by two criteria:
1) a process or substance that is used to numb pain, and
2) that process or substance use has caused problems or unbalance in another area of your life.
Addictions and codependency are complex and take time to work on, but there are solid, research-based treatments available that can help you on the road to recovery and repair damaged relationships.
Types of Addictions
We work with many types of addictions including substance addictions such as Alcohol, Drugs, or Prescription Meds as well as process addictions such as Sexual Addiction, including Pornography.
With substance addictions, we may collaborate with other medical providers and recovery options to support you in your journey.
We have trusted referrals for those with Eating Disorders and Gambling Addictions, and can provide support for marriages and partners of those suffering with all addictions.
Addiction Counseling Can Help
If you or a loved one are dealing with the effects of addiction, there is help and hope.
We utilize evidence-based practices for recovery, both for the one suffering from the addiction itself, and for their family members or partners. We tailor addiction recovery for each individual, knowing that a path that may work for one person may not work for another.
Let’s discuss the options for how we can help you reach lifelong recovery goals.
